 Leave a Condolence

i started at the fayetteville post office when Ed was a rural route carrier. i believe he was the first rural route carrier i really got to know. he nicknamed me Waylon for Waylon Jennings. i guess because i was so scraggly looking. it was always a pleasure to talk to him and i never remember him in a bad mood. he retired and i went from post office to post office for awhile, then transferred to rogers. i seen the name Ed Hutton, but thought he doesn't live in Rogers. finally i had to know so i took the mail to the door and sure enough it was him i think his words to me were: it has been a long time since i seen you Waylon. from then on anytime i delivered his mail and he was outside i would stop and we would talk. usually the stories were about the same as they were before but we always managed to add a little something extra each time we told one. i have not his route lately so it has been awhile since i have seen him. i was deeply saddened for the families loss, but know this, there was no one like ED HUTTON.
