Victor Ray Hopson, 66, of Colcord, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the Northeastern Health System in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
Victor was born on June 17, 1952 in Brawley, California to Chester and Mary Hopson. He served proudly in the United States Navy and is survived by his children Christa, James, Sherre, Morgan, Issac, Daniel and several grandchildren. Victor Hopson is also survived by his brother John Hopson, sister Teresa Kinsinger and their children.
Victor lived his life in California, Oregon, Oklahoma and Washington primarily. He served the United States Navy in Vietnam and worked as a mechanic for many years as a civilian.
Victor was highly intelligent and an avid reader of the Bible. Victor wrote poetry, short stories and books as a hobby.
Victor provided his personal eulogy in his many writings and is as follows:
There comes a time when all do pass,
And rent this veil of tears,
To go before the Lord of Hosts,
After life’s long challenged years.
There, the tears of the earth are dried,
The hidden things made clear.
There, the works of life are tried,
By a juster judge than here….
Victor Ray Hopson’s memorial service with Military Honors will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018 at the Fayetteville National Cemetery at 2:00pm. The cremation arrangements were entrusted to Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.
