Bernadine L. Johnson

Bernadine L. Johnson “Bernie”, 83, of Springdale passed away April 3, 2019 surrounded by family.  She was born on September 10, 1935 in Davenport Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandmother; and her son, Stanley Meeker of Lowell, Arkansas.

She is survived by one sister Marilyn Wright (Don)of Arizona, her children Janelle Trowbridge of Springdale, Derrald Meeker Jr. (Lydia) of Siloam Springs, Juanita Meeker of Bentonville, Karla Meeker (wife of Stanley) of Lowell, Donnie Meeker (Tammy) of Siloam Springs, Ronald Meeker (Eve) of Lincoln, and Ramona Meeker (Gary) of Springdale, her grandchildren Tara Adkins (Keith), Erin Jaeger (Jared), Ryan Ericson, Tommy Meeker, Joshua Meeker, Autumn Rohwer, Jasmine North (Todd), Matthew Meeker, Kyle Meeker, Heather Bidwell (Wes), William Gammill (Elizabeth), Meagan Meeker, Emily Meeker, Russ Dietz (Heath), Wade Pargeon, Ashley Marcum (Scotty) and 17 great-grandchildren.

Bernie spent 45 years working as a nursing assistant. She loved her dog, Baby, and her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She took every opportunity she had to go out to eat with family and friends. She frequented the Springdale Senior Center and enjoyed going out to BINGO with her girlfriends. She was the life of the conversation and she told the best jokes. 

Memorial Service will be held at 4:00p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2019 at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale, Arkansas.  Pastor Howard Garrett to officiate the service.  To sign the online guestbook, please visit www.backstrom-pyeatte.com.

I meet Bernie at mill creek apartments when I started going to the bingo games at mill creek got to know her better when I took over the bingo games and become the caller at mill creek she will be missed
