Dennis Wade Martin I, 72, of Watts, Oklahoma, passed away at the Fayetteville Veterans Hospital on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.

Dennis was born on June 25, 1954 in Joplin, Missouri. He was the son of Francise Martin and Christeen Golden Martin. He married Renee L Trombley on August 31, 1981 in Miami, Oklahoma, having just celebrated their 45th anniversary.

Dennis was a retired disabled veteran of the U.S. Army having served Honoarably during the Vietnam Era. He later worked as a welder and metal fabricator at Farley’s in Siloam Springs and as head of maintenance for Ozark Electronics also in Siloam Springs. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, arrowhead knapping and collected all his life, watching Westerns, shooting, and taking care of his chickens, in which he was known as the “Chicken Whisperer” Dennis loved spending time with is family especially his grandchildren who loving called him “Pa” or “Old Man”. He was of the Christian faith.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Christeen Marlow and her husband Don Marlow, his father, Francise Martin; one son, Dennis “Wade “ Martin II and one brother, Benny Martin.

He is survived by his wife, Renee L Martin of the home; one son, Andy Martin and wife Jessica of Watts; one brother, Larry Martin and wife Judith of Watts; one sister, Connie Gordon and husband Robert of Grove; three grandchildren, Daemon Martin, Kylie Martin and partner Isaiah Brueckner, and Lashonna Taylor; along with many nieces, nephews, other family members and all the one’s that called him “Pa”.

Graveside burial of cremains will be held at the Bell Cemetery on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 2:00pm. “Preacher Man Across the Creek” Joe Wilkerson will officiate the service, along with Military Honors being conducted.
