Gary Hecox

Garland Rex “Gary” Hecox, 73, of Watts, Oklahoma passed away at his home on Friday, July 22, 2022.

 

Gary was born on December 3, 1948, in Hominy, Oklahoma. He was a son of Billie Raymond Hecox and Dora Dean Powell Hecox.  He married Susan Bernice Boliver in September 1982 in Lincoln, Arkansas.  Gary was an ordained minister of the Pentecostal Faith and had been the pastor of the Watts Pentecostal Church for several years. He currently attended the Victory Worship Church in West Siloam Springs where he was active in church outreach and making pickups from local vendors for their food pantry outreach. Gary was a rock mason by trade, having been self employed for many years and in his spare time enjoyed fishing. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served honorably during the Korean Conflict and later served in the National Guard.

 

He is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Susan Hecox of the home; two sons, Tracy Alan Hecox of Springdale, and Billie Raymond Hecox III of Mountainburg, Arkansas; three daughters, Tina Ann Dobbs of Mountainburg, Arkansas, Angie Bernece Farmer of Watts, Oklahoma, and Shely Laticha James of Decatur, Arkansas; several brothers and sisters along with grandkids, Noah Hecox, Willow Hecox, Lilah Mae Hecox, Delanie Farmer, Daxton Farmer, Cassie Button, Colby Elger, Brandon Ferguson, Cheyenne Greetan, Lakota Hecox, Joshua Becker, Makayla James, Tafari James, Priya James, Avianna James, Damerae James and Kyler James; and great grandkids, Jace Becker, Amelia King, Thomas Greetan, Aubree Elger, Malachi Elger, Nathaniel Elger, Kace Ferguson, William Haney and Abel Haney; and his faithful companion dog, P Willie.

 

He is preceded in death by his father Bill Hecox, mother Dora Powell, sister Twilla Hecox and great granddaughter Madilyn Greetan. 

 

A Memorial Service will be held 10:00am, Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Victory Worship Center at 6899 US-412, Watts, OK 74964.
