Ida Catherine Crites

Ida Catherine Crites, 81, of Bentonville, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at the Circle of Life Hospice Home at Legacy Village.

Ida was born on October 16, 1936 in Peach Orchard, Arkansas to Willard Leroy Ulmer and Minnie Christine Parks-Ulmer. She married John Crites on August 10, 1957 who preceded her in death in 2009. Ida was a homemaker, she enjoyed playing bean bag baseball, bingo, and any sporty game on the Wii. She had a true passion for being a Sunday school teacher and loved her Sunday school classes. Most of all, she cherished her family and taking her Honey Mans, John for McChickens.

She is survived by her son, Michael John Crites of Rogers, AR; Penny Sue Crites of Decatur, AR; her 6 Grandchildren, Sara Downing-Clark, Micah Ingram, Matt Crites, Justin Crites, Frankii Downing; Jeremy Bennett; and 12 Great-Grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Willard & Minnie Ulmer; her spouse, John Crites; her brother, Jimmie “Abe” Ulmer; and sister, Lottie Maggard.

The visitation for Ida will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 11:00am at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home Chapel in Siloam Springs, AR. Chaplain Beth Snyder will officiate the service with burial following at Fairmount Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Circle of Life Hospice Care or the Alzheimer’s Association. The arrangements were entrusted to Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, AR. My loving Aunt Ida was more than an Aunt to me. She was my friend and my mentor. She brought much joy to all who knew her. To know her was to love her. Forever in my memories and heart. Much love and many prayers to her children and grandchildren your in my thoughts.
