Jalana Kay Silvey

Jalana Kay Silvey (Williams), born July 8, 1956, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025, after battling Alzheimer’s and early-onset dementia for more than a decade. Family meant everything to her. She was always ready to give love, such as taking phone calls at random hours, offering hugs during tough times, and cherishing moments big and small. Jalana grew up in Conway, Arkansas, before moving to Oklahoma in her 20s, starting her marriage there, and having three children. For more than 30 years, she called Springdale, Arkansas, home.

Beloved by many, Jalana knew how to connect with people from every walk of life. She was a wonderful daughter, wife, and mother. She was empathetic, forgiving, and had a great sense of humor. Her laugh will be remembered by her loved ones.

Jalana is the daughter of Jerald and Mary Williams. She is survived by her former husband, Larry Silvey, and their three children: Michael (Renee) Silvey, Steven (Brittainy) Silvey, and Jennifer (Jeff) Silvey. Six Grandchildren: Landon, Lincoln, Caden, Norah, Isla, and Vincent. She is also survived by her sister Marilyn Sue.

For more than two decades, she worked as a nurse, putting patients at ease with her caring nature. She worked at St. Mary’s as an LPN in the nursery before spending most of her career working at a family clinic.

As a movie aficionado, she was a fan of classic Hollywood flicks, animated features, and more. Whether with friends or family, she wanted to share her passion with others. Her two favorite movies were The Wizard of Oz and O’ Brother, Where Art Thou. She loved the glitz and glam of the Oscars and made a point to watch it every year.

Throughout her life, she believed in a kind and forgiving God; seeking to reflect this belief in her actions with her family and friends. In the churches she attended, she involved herself in some way, be it Bible Studies, a music program, or just getting to know the other members.

Jalana was fond of animals and particularly loved shelties. She adopted and cared for many throughout her life. They were a profound comfort for her during tough times.

While here on Earth, Jalana enjoyed many hobbies. Here are a few of her favorite things: the color purple, singing (even offering her voice on a church album), gardening, carrot cake, antique glass, the long-running serial soap opera General Hospital, vacations, crocheting, and puzzles. In fact, she worked on puzzles almost up to her death.

Jalana was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
