I knew James Calvert as Brother James. The last time I saw him was at Illinois River church not long ago. That night we sang Bound for that City, a song he would always request. I often think of James and his wife Aileen and the entire family and all they meant to our family growing up the meaning of loving everyone, working hard, counting your blessings, pressing forward against the odds, praying without ceasing, living by faith, believing Gods promises remain true no matter where you find yourself in life. As Pastor Sam said, we have lost a pillar of our community. He was and his memory remains a strong example of the true meaning of being a Christian and how to live life on this earth.
