John "Jack" E Bachman

John E “Jack” Bachman, age 88, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas passed away Saturday, January 24, 2026, at the NW Medical Center in Springdale, AR.

Jack was born on July 23, 1937, in Chicago, IL the son of the late Robert G Bachman and Edna (Hanson) Bachman.

Jack had devoted his lifetime to teaching elementary education. He loved imparting knowledge to young minds. Jack held a lifetime membership to the United States Chess Federation and often organized Chess Tournaments for his students.

Jack was a very creative person and actively pursued many hobbies, especially in his retirement.

He was fascinated by computers from the early years of personal computers, and soon became the resident "computer expert" in his school. His computer skills would be used to further his hobbies, as technology expanded and he was able to utilize the capabilities this provided.

He was an avid photographer, and has left an impressive collection of beautiful photographs taken during his extensive travels throughout the United States.

Jack was also a musician, being accomplished on both the piano and violin, performing with several community orchestras in the Chicago area. He loved using computer software to create his own musical compositions, and became especially prolific during his 80's, having upwards of 100 works to his credit during this time!

He was also a writer, and though nothing was ever published, he did complete a novel for children among other offerings.

Jack was a loyal sports fan for most Chicago teams, including the Cubs (until he became frustrated with management decisions in the early 2000's) but especially the Chicago Bulls who he followed faithfully throughout their history, good times and bad. In later years during his retirement in Arkansas, he took an interest in the Razorbacks, especially the basketball program.

Jack is survived by 2 sisters, Phyllis Brummitt and Barbara Guerrant and several nieces and nephews.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Bachman III,
