Joyce Ann Young, born Joyce Ann Guffey on December 18, 1943, peacefully passed away on December 9, 2023, in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. She was surrounded by her loved ones in her final moments. Joyce was a beloved wife, sister, step-mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness.

Joyce was known for her thoughtful and generous nature. She was a compassionate soul who always put others before herself. Despite her gentle demeanor, she possessed a feisty and creative spirit that allowed her to tackle any challenge with determination. She was a loving and selfless individual who brought joy and laughter to those around her. Joyce had a zest for life and was always up for an adventure. She was a go-getter who embraced every opportunity that came her way.

Joyce was a graduate of Will Rogers High School, class of 1961. In her professional life, Joyce, alongside her husband Vernon, dedicated many years to building the most successful glass business in Rogers, Arkansas. She played a vital role as the stained glass maker and bookkeeper, showcasing her talent and attention to detail. Joyce's dedication and hard work were evident in the success of their business.

Outside of work, Joyce had a wide range of hobbies and interests that brought her joy. She had a passion for jewelry making and cooking up homemade BBQ sauce. Her culinary skills extended beyond BBQ, as she was known for her delicious homemade candy and pickles. Joyce was also a skilled stained glass artist, creating beautiful pieces that showcased her creativity. She had a knack for connecting with people and never met a stranger. Joyce genuinely enjoyed being a caregiver and always went above and beyond to help others.

Joyce leaves behind a loving husband, Vernon Young, and a large and loving family. She is survived by Ed Guffey and wife Liz of Las Cruces, NM, Loyd Guffey and wife Rita of Tulsa, OK, Rena Guffey of Tulsa, OK, Stephen Guffey of Tahlequah, OK, Phillip Guffey and wife Sherry of Berryville, AR, John Guffey and wife Lyn of Siloam Springs, AR, David Guffey and wife Paula of Tulsa, OK. Sherry Kochen and husband Eric of Gentry, AR, Chris Young and partner Dennis Pierachini of Santa Rosa, CA, Toby Johnston and wife Valerie of Henderson, NV, Randi Carter and husband Adam of Springdale, AR, Dustin Kochen of Fayetteville, AR, Haley Falls and husband Jordan of Rogers, AR, Michael Guffey and wife Natalie of Broken Arrow, OK, and Alison Guffey of Siloam Springs, AR. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren.

In honor of Joyce's life, her loved ones will gather to remember and celebrate the impact she had on their lives. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Services to celebrate Joyce's life will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. The visitation will be held, Friday, December 15, 2023 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm. The funeral service will be held Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 2:00pm. The caring staff at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Homes is assisting the family with the arrangements.

In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to  ST. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Pl, Memphis., TN 38105, in memory of Joyce Young.
