Katheron Delores Briggs Imes

On Friday, December 10th, Katheron Delores Briggs Imes passed away at her home in Springdale, Arkansas. She was 93 years old. Katheron was born on November 1, 1928 in Fort Worth, Texas.

She is survived by her children Kenneth Michael Imes, Donald Ray Imes and wife Maria, all of Springdale and Susan Imes Yell and husband Garlen of Fayetteville; siblings Mary Alice Granata of Tontitown and Billy Ray Witcher and wife Karen of Arlington, Texas; grandchildren Amy Imes Bucklew and husband Josh of Fort Worth, Texas; Rachel Imes Trichell and husband Allen of Springdale; Erin Yell Kemp and husband Evan of Cave Springs; Sara Yell Phillips and husband Reid of Fayetteville; Ashley Imes of Plano, Texas; Devin Imes of Springdale and Rebecca Imes Jones and husband Levi of Rogers; great-grandchildren Tyler, Andy and Grayson Trichell; Seth, Kayla and Dylan Imes; Brylee and Dexter Imes; Nora Kemp and Silas and Levi Phillips, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Katheron is preceded in death by her Father Leonard Raymond “Jack” Briggs, her Mother Anna Mae Bell Briggs and her Step-Mother Alice Louise Martin Briggs, a son Ronald Ray Imes and siblings Edwina L. “Addaline” Witcher, Ray F. Briggs, Evelyn M. Arnold, Maxine “Mickey” Bryce, Jack R. Briggs, Norman F. Briggs and Donald G. Briggs; and second husband, Glen Norris.

Katheron married Kenneth Edward Imes on December 10, 1945, in Beeville, Texas. They were married 47 years, until Kenneth’s death in 1993. Katheron was a home-maker and also ran a home daycare for many years. She attended Elmdale Baptist Church and had many good friends.

Pallbearers will be Josh Bucklew, Devin Imes, Levi Jones, Evan Kemp, Andy Trichell, and Allen Trichell.

A visitation for Katheron is scheduled for 12:00pm - 2:00pm, Friday, December 17, 2021 at Backstrom-Pyeatte, 2230 N. Thompson, Springdale, Arkansas. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, December 17, 2021 at Backstrom-Pyeatte. Officiating will be Jeff Rhoades. Graveside burial will immediately follow at Bluff Cemetery, 900 N Shiloh Street, Springdale, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers or plants, the family requests that you make a contribution to your favorite charity or organization, and those can be made in Katheron’s memory, if so desired.
