Laura Marilyn Ricksecker, age 56, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at the Northwest Medical Center in Springdale.
Laura was born on September 26, 1965 in Fullerton, CA the 10th child and daughter of Richard Cleo Ricksecker and Lucille Anna (Breker). She was affectionately called LoLo when she was a little girl.
She was born with Down Syndrome. She remained living with her parents in California and then in 1990 moved with them to Espanola, New Mexico where she lived and worked bagging groceries. She had many wonderful friends there and staff workers that took her on outings and poured so much love into her life. We remain forever thankful for all they did!!
After her mom’s death in 2015 she moved to Arkansas to live with her sister Margaret and family.
She had a great love for music and loved to sing! She was raised Catholic and was always happily ready to go to church. She took her relationship with Jesus very serious and prayed the most beautiful prayers for others with all sincerity!
She had a special place in her heart for all babies.
Her greatest joy all year long was talking about her birthday, she told everybody she met, “my birthday is September 26th”.
She also loved Santa Claus and tried really hard to behave so he would bring her presents.
She was full of life and happy, telling silly jokes and laughing often, until dementia took her memory and many abilities.
Her family rejoices with her now as she is with her mom, dad, and Jesus in heaven. We are pretty sure she has already joined the heavenly choir and not stopped singing and worshipping since she arrived!!
Laura is survived by her sisters Marilyn Traynor, Rita Jaglowski and Margaret Snow; her brothers Steve Ricksecker, David Ricksecker and Richard Ricksecker and many nieces, nephews, cousins, three aunts and many dear friends.
Her beloved parents and brothers Gregory Ricksecker, Robin Ricksecker and Andrew Ricksecker have preceded her in death.
