Lelia Maybell Martin

Lelia Maybell Martin, 90, of Springdale, passed away Friday, March 27,2026 at the Edgewood Health & Rehab in Springdale.

Maybell was born on September 21, 1935, in Clifty, Arkansas. She was the daughter of William Joseph Yeager and Lelia Asaline Hickerson Yeager. She was the widow of the late Charles H Martin who preceded her in death on December 8, 1995.

Maybell was an LPN for over 28 years, having worked many years for the Springdale Memorial Hospital. She also worked for several local nursing homes and was a cook for Southwest Junior High School for 10 years. She always stayed busy even up until her late seventies. She was a member of the Berry Street Baptist Church. Maybell loved sewing, cooking, baking crossword puzzles, Word Search puzzles, going to Bingo at the Senior Center and always reading her Bible daily.

She was preceded in death by her husband; three brother, Lester “Jack” Yeager, James Yeager, and Buell Yeager; three sisters, Leota Dixon, Loretha Yeager and Mildred Ingram.

Survived by one son, Doug Martin and his wife Rhonda; one daughter, Sheila Hartley; 4 grandsons Chris Martin, Ben Wolfe, Cody Wolfe and Justin Wolfe; one granddaughter, Amanda Eddington; and 10 great grandkids; along with many other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 5:00pm to8:00pm.

Funeral services will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 10:00am. Burial will be held at the Bluff Cemetery.
