Linda Sue Gatewood

Linda Sue Gatewood, 54, of Summers, Arkansas passed away Sunday, September 29, 2019 at the Earlene Howard Hospice Home in Springdale.

Linda was born on May 30, 1965 in Gravette, Arkansas. She was a daughter of John Gatewood and Francis Barnes Gatewood Shaffer.  She lived most of her adult life, 30 years, in Wichita, Kansas.  She was a dispatcher for a cab company and a taxi driver on the weekends.  She enjoyed shopping, cooking, spending time with her friends, doing hair and nails, and was an avid animal lover especially her cat.  Linda was a free spirit who was extremely strong and loyal to family and friends.

She is survived by two sisters, Alice Farmer and husband, Darrell of Summers, AR and Opal Payne of Colcord, OK; two brothers, Johnny Gatewood and wife Cheryl of Siloam Springs, AR and Norman Gatewood of Colcord, OK; adopted mother, Nadine Farmer; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home on Friday, October 4, 2019 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm

Funeral service will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Chapel in Siloam Springs on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 2:00pm. Linda was a good and stalwart friend, a tireless defender of animals, and a dedicated co-worker who was always a real pleasure to work with. Farewell old friend...We'll see you on the other side.

We worked those long over night shifts for awhile and had some great talks that I will cherish. You were such a sweet spirit and selfless person. I was always amazed at your energy to keep going. You will be deeply missed more than you can know.

A lady that could make a sweet-potato pie, her baked beans were so good I called them Linda Beans. The LOVE you had for others with an caring a HEART. The talks, The laughs, The cries, The Hugs we had will be missed dearly.....I have told you many times I LOVE YOU my friend...NO MORE hurting, NO MORE PAIN and taking on the cares of this old world.
