Louis V Davidson

Louis Vern Davidson, age 79, of Decatur, Arkansas passed away Sunday, April 12, 2026, at the Apple Creek Health and Rehab in Centerton, AR.

Louis was born on August 7, 1946, in Lenox, Iowa, the son of the late Jesse V. Davidson and Mildred M (Boham) Davidson.

After graduating high school, Louis worked for Barran’s Farm Supply driving a semi and doing farm work as needed. Louis was drafted into the United States Navy and served during the Vietnam era leaving the Navy as an ENG 2nd Class. After returning home, he met and on December 10, 1981, married the love of his life, Kathy Russell.

Moving to Arkansas in 1984, he went to work for Simmon’s Foods in the Pet Food Division. He had learned every process by the time he retired in 2012.

Louis loved to read the many newspapers he subscribed to and watching the Chiefs. Louis was also an avid baseball fan. His greatest joy was spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.

Louis is survived by his loving wife, Kathy; 3 children, Jeremy (Julie) Davidson, Stephanie (Scott) Porter, and Amanda (William) Bouyear; 10 grandchildren, Tyler, Madison (Shayne), Bailee, Ethan Eli, Daniel, Alexander, Milena, Dominic and Jayden; along with many nieces and nephews.

Louis was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lloyd K Davidson; and a granddaughter Payton Marie Porter.
