Maria "Helen" E. Thomas

Maria Helen E. Thomas, 73, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at the Earlene Howard Hospice Home in Springdale.

Helen was born on May 4, 1950, in O’Donell, Texas. She was the daughter of Jose Polina and Vicenta Ruiz Polina. She married Johnny Thomas in 1968 in Muscatine, Iowa, celebrating 55 years of marriage. Helen was a member of the Siloam Springs 7th Day Adventist Church, where she was very active. She was a Literature Evangelist and always wanted to make sure everyone knew about Jesus. She enjoyed music, singing, taking walks, the outdoors and crocheting. She loved taking care and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Johnny Thomas of Siloam Springs; two sons, Andrew Thomas and wife Shelly of Lowell, AR, and John Thomas of Siloam Springs; two daughters, Rosie Killough and husband Charles, and Angela Robertson and husband Denny, all of Rogers, AR; three brothers, Eli Polina, Albert Polina, and Joe Polina; two sisters, Anna Reiner and Ana Marie Polina; 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; along with many other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held 5:00pm-8:00pm, Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, AR.

The funeral service for Helen will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Siloam Springs 7^th Day Adventist Church with Pastor Rick Mercer officiating. Burial will follow at Tyler Springs Cemetery near Stillwell, Oklahoma.
