Mariessa M Dewey

Mariessa May Dewey, 46, of Colcord, Oklahoma passed away Friday, August 28, 2026, at the Earlene Howard Circle of Life Hospice Home in Springdale.

Mariessa was born on March 20, 1980, in Danville, Illinois. She was the daughter of Michael Earl Dewey Sr. and Opal Louise Gatewood Dewey. Mariessa was a free spirit who would rather take a walk in the woods or swim in a creek. She loved making bird baths and wind chimes and found happiness in small things. She was a brave fighter who loved her family and helping others. She attended the First Baptist Church in Colcord.

She was preceded in death by her father, Michael Dewey Sr.

She is survived by her mother, Opal Payne of Colcord, Oklahoma; two daughters, Lilly Clark of Casper, Wyoming, and Ember Rose Puckette of Poteau, Oklahoma; one son, River Lee Puckette of Poteau, Oklahoma; three brothers, Micheal Dewey Jr. of Spavinaw, Oklahoma, Matt Dewey (Andrea) of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, and Caleb Payne (“K”) of Colcord, Oklahoma; one sister, Michelle Walker (Jason) of Gentry, Arkansas; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

Visitation will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 3:00pm to 6:00pm.
