Martha N. Gardisser

Martha N. Gardisser, 89, of Rogers, Arkansas, passed away April 6, 2022,

at Jamestown Health & Rehab in Rogers, Arkansas.

Martha was born in Cincinnati, Arkansas, the youngest of eleven, to

Robert and Stella Curtis on October 24, 1932. She married the love of her

life, Leon Gardisser, at the young age of sixteen and was widowed by the

age of forty-nine. Martha gave birth to her sixth child, at the age of

twenty-three,  before the oldest was six. Living on and working a dairy farm

was hard work with long hours.  Oh the stories she loved to tell in her later

years of raising them during the hardest of times. For example, she didn’t

have water in the house until 1972. Nothing went to waste as she gardened

and canned, while putting three square meals on the table. She enjoyed

singing while she worked praising her Lord and Savior and never

complained as she met the needs of her family. At night, Martha quilted and

crocheted, gifting her talents to so many over the years.  She loved putting

together puzzles, playing games and spending time with her family and

friends. Visits were never often or long enough in her mind.

She is survived by two sons, Ronnie Gardisser and wife Debbie of Colcord,

Oklahoma; Dennis Gardisser and wife Beverly of Lonoke, Arkansas; three

daughters, Sandy Daugherty and husband Jimmy of Prairie Grove,

Arkansas; Berniece Barnes of Prairie Grove, Arkansas,  and Brenda

Jarman and husband Lynn of Rogers, Arkansas;one daughter-in-law,

Erlinda Gardisser of Lonoke, Arkansas;  one sister, Willadean Walker of

Fayetteville, Arkansas; 19 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 9

great-great-grandchildren; and many other loved ones.

She is preceded in death by her husband Leon Gardisser, son Bob

Gardisser, son-in-law Darrel Barnes, her parents, five brothers and four

sisters.

Visitation and funeral will be at Weddington Baptist Church on Saturday,

April 9, 2022, with the Visitation starting at 2:00 P.M. and the Funeral

Service starting at 3:00 P.M.  A Graveside Service will follow at the

Weddington Cemetery.

To Martha's children and whole family. We are so sorry we couldn't come to the service. Leon was not able and it was so hard for him to not be there to see all of the family. God bless you with special peace and comfort. You are so blessed to have parents like Leon and Martha. He was a special gift to me when I was growing up. Love and Prayers

I was fortunate enough to have one of her daughters, Mrs. Brenda Jarman, as my kindergarten teacher. We talked about Ms. Martha Gardisser from time to time. From what I know, she was a wonderful woman who has left behind a great legacy, both in example and through her terrific family.

I knew Mrs Gardisser as Nanny...Jason's Daughtery's beloved Nanny. She was so precious. I got to visit with her several times over the years with Jason. She was so precious to my friend Jason....I loved hearing her stories, listening to her doting on her grandchildren and seeing her beautiful quilts that she would be working on at the time. She even my made my sweet grandbabie's first blankets! I was blessed enough to even get her homemade stuffing for my Thanksgiving meals several times over the years! Her recipe was the best ever! Mrs. Gardisser was a treasure and she will be so missed. Until we see you again in heaven Mrs. Gardisser.❤️

I was blessed to know Ms. Martha. She loved her kids and grandkids and told me many stories during our visits. I also gained a sister in Brenda. I am very thankful I had the opportunity to know her. Love and prayers to all of her family - she was a great lady!
