Marvin Adam Ballmann

January 28, 1934 — October 13, 2021

Marvin Adam Ballmann, 87, died Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Ozark Community Hospital in Gravette, Arkansas.

 

Marvin was born January 28, 1934 in Dayton, Ohio to Lawrence Ballmann SR and Edith Boedeker-Ballmann. He proudly served for the United States Army. After his discharge, he came to Preston, Iowa to fulfill his dream of working on a farm. His friend, Lloyd Downey got him a job on a dairy farm with his brother Ronald. After saving up, he rented a farm from Donald Empen and little did he know that he would meet the love of his life from this farm land.  On October 6, 1962, he married Bertha Empen in Preston, Iowa when she completed three years of nursing school. They would make a big move in December 1978 to settle near Maysville as their home area. Marvin was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Siloam Springs.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Lawrence Ballmann JR and Eugene Ballmann.

 

He is survived by his beloved wife, Bertha of the home; 4 sons, Peter Ballmann of Pittsford, MI., Luke Ballmann of Maysville, AR., Festus Ballmann and wife, Karla of Jay, OK., and Eddie Ballmann of Jay, OK; 1 daughter, Diana Graham and husband, Kevin of Gravette, AR; sister-in-law, Jean Ballmann of Dayton, OH; 7 grandchildren, Cole Ballmann and wife, Brittany, Wade Ballmann and wife, Morgan, Wendy Venske and husband, Cole, Kate Gibbons and husband, Wyatt, Jacob Ballmann, Jackie Zavala and husband Daniel, and Jonathan Ballmann;8 great-grandchildren, Rhett, Alexis, Lauren, Iris, Mia, Chava, Cass, and Lincoln.

 

A memorial service will be held 5:00pm-7:00pm, Friday, October 22, 2021 at Maysville’s Community Building. A Funeral mass in Marvin’s honor will be held 11:00am Saturday, October 23, 2021 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The inurnment of Marvin will be held 2:00pm Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Maysville Cemetery. Any flowers purchased in Marvin’s honor are requested by the family to be delivered to the funeral home by 3:00pm Friday, October 22.
