Marvin Luther Jones

Marvin Luther Jones, of Springdale, Arkansas, passed away on April 2, 2026. He was born on July 7, 1940, in Russellville, Arkansas, to the late Luther Jones and Maxine Berry.

On July 27, 1985, he married Catherine Robinson in Branford, Connecticut, beginning a marriage that spanned many years.

Marvin worked as a Director of Human Resources for many different V.A. Hospitals across the United States, a career that allowed him to serve and support countless employees and veterans throughout his years of work. He was a Past Master of Widow’s Son Lodge #66 in Branford, Connecticut, a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, and a member of Masonic Lodge Washington #1 of Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was also a member of First United Methodist Church in Springdale, Arkansas. Marvin had a special fondness for his past and present family pets, which brought him a great deal of comfort and companionship over the years. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his work, and the many friendships he made throughout his life.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine Robinson Jones; his son, Jeff Jones and wife Heather; his daughter, Lisa Powers; his grandchildren, Sara Lanoy and husband Jonathan, Rachel Jennings, Dustin Jones and wife Christina, and Erica Clawson; his great-grandchildren, Jack, Lincoln, Nikko, Alekzander, and Sofia; his brother-in-law, John Robinson and wife Karen; his son-in-law, Keith Jennings and wife Jamie; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Whitney Jennings; his sons-in-law, David McConnell and Neil Powers; and his grandson, Jacob McConnell.

In accordance with Marvin’s wishes, cremation will take place and no services are scheduled at this time.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Springdale, Arkansas.
