Mitchell Colt Shelley, age 38, of West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 21, 2025 surrounded by his family at the Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.

He was born July 13, 1987 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas to Tracy and Michelle Shelley. Mitch grew up in Colcord, Oklahoma and was a proud graduate of Colcord High School, Class of 2005, where he played football for the Hornets and enjoyed being part of the team. He was proud of his Cherokee heritage and carried it with him throughout his life. Mitch’s faith was an important part of his life, and he was a member of Crittenden Baptist Church in West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma.

From the start, Mitch lived life with energy and passion. He loved his children deeply, and they were always at the center of his heart and purpose.

Mitch was known for pushing the limits and chasing the thrill of adrenaline- whether in his adventures, his workouts, or the way he fully embraced each day. He had a goofy sense of humor that could light up any room, and he never missed a chance to have fun and make memories with those he loved most.

He is survived by his parents, Tracy and Michelle Shelley; his sister, Ashton Taylor and husband, Danny; his wife, Ayla Shelley and their beloved children, Kaygen Shelley, Jaxson Shelley, Zane Shelley, Zoey Kirby, and Zeke Shelley; Maternal Grandparents, Vinnus and Marilee Hilderbrand; Nephew, Braxley Copeland; his dog, Dallas and many other family members and friends who will carry his memory close.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Bart and Reta Faye Shelley.

Private services will be held.
