Nao Her Enoch Thao, 76, of Gentry, Arkansas passed away on Friday, May 30, 2025, at the Mercy Hospital in Rogers.

Nao Her was born on June 1, 1948, in Xieng Khouang, Laos. He was the son of Txhaj Kawm Thao and Chi Vang Thao. Nao Her was a Lieutenant in the Hmong Army during the Vietnam War supporting the U.S. Armed Forces. He was awarded the U.S. Purple Heart and the U.S Army Commendation Medal for heroism and meritorious service. Nao Her was a welder and later became a poultry farmer before his retirement. He was a founding member and dedicated member of the Grace Alliance Church and loved to evangelize whenever he had the chance. He loved nature and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and horses. He also loved to watch wrestling and was a renowned arm wrestler.

He is survived by his wife, Youa Her Thao of the home; two sons, David Thao and wife Amber of Decatur, and Solo Thao and wife Pachee of Gentry; three daughters, Jessica Thao and husband Neng Moua of Owasso, Oklahoma, Dao Thao and husband Peter Lee of Inola, Oklahoma, and Marcia Thao and husband Sue Yang of Gravette; one son in law, Long Vang of St. Paul, Minnesota; eight brothers and two sisters; thirteen grandchildren, Michael Moua, Matthew Moua, Mitchell Moua, Christian Vang, Christopher Vang, Adam Lee, Samuel Lee, Emmanuel Thao, Isreal Thao, Melody Thao, Jaelyn Thao, Yuliana Thao, and Carli Yang; one great grandchild, Archie Moua; along with many other family members and friends.

He was preceded by his parents and one daughter, Bao Thao.

Funeral services will be held on July 5 – 7 2025 at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.
