Opal M Leonard, 99, of Gravette, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at the Jamestown Nursing & Rehab in Rogers, Arkansas.
Opal was born on August 17, 1926, in Gravette, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Jesse W Beckett and Maude L Gadberry Beckett. She married the Late Olin Glenn Leonard in Fayetteville on June 17, 1952, who preceded her in death in 1998.
Opal was a homemaker and rancher. She was the oldest living member of the First Christian Church in Gravette and was also active with the American Legion Auxiliary, the American Quarter Horse Association, Christian Women's Fellowship Dorcas Circle. and the Benton County Planning Board, Opal served on the Bethel cemetery board for many years. She enjoyed painting with watercolors and oils and loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, Jesse Leonard; two brothers, Robert Beckett, and Jim Beckett; one sister Fay Beckett Wilfong; and her parents.
She is survived by three sons, Danny Leonard (late Cheryl Leonard) their children, Shelly Leonard Frye, Colby Leonard (Andrea Leonard), five great grandchildren, Michael Leonard and his wife Patricia Leonard their children, Toni Woods (Tracy Woods), Amanda Price (Levi Price) and five great grandchildren; and Dr. Kent Leonard his wife Dorian Leonard their children, Lauren Leonard and Cole Leonard.
Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church of Gravette or to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
