Rev. Elvon Wolf

On January 9^th God opened heaven’s door and Elvon Wolf proudly stepped through. There he met his Jesus, Lois, Derwin and other family members.

Noah Elvon Wolf was born in Springdale, AR, on February 22, 1934 to Theodore “Buck” Wolf and Millie (Sizemore) Wolf.

Elvon grew up in hard times. Growing up the family worked at share cropping, picked cotton, picked apples in Washington. He also worked with is dad in sawmill and logging, he knew hard times.

In 1952, he fell in love with Lois Bowlin, and they had 2 children, a son Derwin and a daughter Debra. Lois passed away in 1997 and his son Derwin passed away in 2005.

Elvon worked for George’s Feed for several years. After that he worked at Layman’s for 31 years.

His father built the Nob Hill Holiness Church. Elvon followed in his father’s footsteps, he evangelized for a while before taking his father’s place as pastor of the Nob Hill Pentecostal Church for 40 years. He retired from pastoring on January 29, 2023. After retirement, he attended Faith Assembly of God in Springdale.

On October 30, 1998, he married Evelyn Updike and she survives. Together they pastored and enjoyed traveling.

Elvon is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn; daughter Debra Wolf; Michael (LaJuan)Updike, Greg (Brenda) Updike, Lori (Steve) Hare, and Lisa (Walt) Mosentine; a daughter in law, Brenda Wolf Varvil; and his beloved cat, Riley. Grandchildren, Kristi Wolf, Cortney (Danielle) Wolf, Chase, Brooke (Andrew), Justin (Goge), Danielle (Pat), Zack, Aaron (Breanna), Cody (Robyn), and Hannah (Cody); and many great grandchildren.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Gideon’s International for Bibles.
