Rhonda F. “Sadie” Smith, age 77, of Gentry, Arkansas passed away Monday, August 17, 2026, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, AR.
Sadie was born on September 7, 1948, in Printer, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Logan Tackett and Florida (Parsons) Tackett. On December 17, 1967, she married the love of her life, Glenn T. “Stumpy” Smith and he preceded her in death on November 29, 2021.
Sadie faithfully attended New Life Church in Siloam Springs. While her girls were young, she worked as a substitute teacher at Gentry Public Schools. She served as Church Secretary for First Assembly of God Church in Gentry, where she also taught Sunday School for many years, sharing her faith with children of all ages. Sadie retired from working at the Walmart Home Office, where she ran a coffee bar and had many loyal customers. In her spare time over the years, she kept the books for Glenn's many different business ventures. She and Glenn loved volunteering in the church nursery together. She volunteered tirelessly in the GFA Food Pantry at the church in Gentry until she began being Glenn's caregiver.
Sadie is survived by her loving daughters, Robin (Bryan) Mitchell, and Danya (Dwayne) Bunch; a brother Chester (Joan) Tackett; 5 grandchildren, Doug (Katrina) Mitchell, Trenton Mitchell, Brianna (Skyler) Crews, Whitney (Eathen) Ramsey, and Madison (Rowdy) Blackbird; and 2 great grandsons, Jameson and Colson Ramsey. She also had two special friends in her later years: her "twin" Rhonda Jones, and Vera Powers.
Sadie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother, Herman Tackett
