Richard Warren Harrell, 66, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 26, 2025 at his home.
Richard was born March 21, 1959 in San Bernardino, California to JD and Pauline Harrell. Born with a tenacity that would carry him through a lifetime of health challenges, Richard never let illness define him. He spent his life behind the wheel as a dedicated truck driver, finding peace in long drives and purpose in every delivery. When he wasn’t working, Richard found joy in camping, swimming, and spending time in nature-always happiest under an open sky.
Richard had a heart as wide as the highways he traveled. He was the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. A natural protector, he had a firm but fair way about him-he wouldn’t stand for anyone being unkind, especially to children. Fiercely loyal and deeply compassionate, Richard was the kind of “nice guy” you didn’t want to cross-but the one you always wanted in your corner.
He is survived by his beloved partner, Sandy Butler of the home; 6 children, Kenith, Misty, Jaylyn, Karen, Ricky; 43 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; 2 stepdaughters, Amber and Brandy; 4 step grandchildren; and countless friends.
A Celebration of Richard’s Life will be held by family and friends at a later date.
The arrangements were entrusted to Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, AR. To sign the online guestbook, please visit www.backstrom-pyeatte.com.
