Richard Lee Oliver, 80, of Gentry, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at his home peacefully.
Richard was born on July 14, 1937 in Camden, Illinois to William and Nettie Oliver. On March 17, 1978 he married Cathy Snyder-Oliver in La Harpe, Illinois. He attended the Victory Missionary Baptist Church in Gentry, Arkansas. Richard enjoyed doing yard work, visiting with friends, and had an interest in old tractors. Most of all, he cherished spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy of the home; 2 daughters, Barbara Oliver of La Harpe, IL. and Christen Vancuren of Siloam Springs, AR; 1 brother, Russell Oliver of Blandinsville, IL; 2 sisters, Kathleen Barry of Macomb, IL and Christine Agans of Rushville, IL; 3 grandchildren, Kevin Oliver, Ross Wilmoth, and Abri Vancuren; 2 step grandchildren, Luke Vancuren and Gabe Vancuren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son, 3 daughters, 7 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Visitation for Richard will be held at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home on Monday, June 11, 2018 from 5:00pm-7:00pm. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, AR. To sign the online guestbook, please visit www.backstrom-pyeatte.com
Cathy...I am so sorry to hear about Richard....may your memories & God's love bring you peace, comfort & strength at this difficult time. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal but LOVE leaves a memory no one can steal.
