Shirley Jean Simmons

Shirley Jean Simmons, age 81, of Springdale, AR, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024. She was born in Fairfax, MO to the late True Gene Tindle and Muriel (Wilson) Lau. 

Shirley had an Associate degree in accounting and spent many years caring for children in her home.  Aside from spending time with her family, she enjoyed teaching literacy to adults. 

Shirley is survived by her son Rick (Brenda) Simmons; daughters Deborah (Barry) Phillips, Sarah Gordon, Diana Simmons, Linda (James) Laughter; daughter-in-law Cynthia Simmons; brother James (Shelley) Tindle; sisters Betty (Dennis) Stastny, and Tammy (Jim) Larson; 15 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and a host of family and friends that dearly loved her.  

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband Floyd Wyman Simmons; children Rebecca Byrd, Randall (Brenda) Simmons, Everett Simmons; son in law Timothy Gordon; siblings Dennis Tindle, Robert Tindle, Donna Osmon, Charles Tindle, Donald Tindle, Harvey Tindle, Fred Palmer, Donald Palmer, Robert Palmer, Dwayne Palmer, Grover Palmer, Marjorie Goracke, and Deloris Thompson.
