Velma “Sue” Church, 74, of Colcord, Oklahoma, formerly of Siloam Springs, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 13, 2025, surrounded by her family at the Circle of Life Hospice House in Bentonville.
Sue was born on September 2, 1950, in Wagoner, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Earl Rice and Virginia Thornburg Rice. She married the love of her life Dennis Church on July 8, 1972, in Siloam Springs. Sue worked for many years for Simmons in Siloam Springs before her retirement. She was a member of New Life Church and loved greeting people at the door. She loved the outdoors, especially birds and butterflies. Sue and Dennis enjoyed going to the Siloam Springs Senior Center where they were very active and enjoyed being on the Wii Bowling team. Sue was a woman of God and loved her family especially all her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Wayne Rice, Frank Rice, Calvin Rice, and Paul Rice; along with one sister Sharon Rice.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis Church of the home; one son, Larry Church of Colcord; one daughter, Stacie Rossicoe and husband Don Rossicoe of Colcord; one sister, Carolyn Church of Siloam Springs; nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren; along with many other family members and friends.
A Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Chapel in Siloam Springs.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 19, 2025, at the New Life Church in Siloam Springs at 2:00pm. Pastor Tim Estes will officiate the services. The burial will be held at the Oak Hill Cemetery.
The arrangements were entrusted to Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, AR.
