Wes Potter

Wesley Wayne Potter, 60, of Colcord, Oklahoma passed away peacefully Thursday, March 2, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loved ones.

Wes was born August 18, 1962 in Gravette, Arkansas to Zack Potter and Nina Bennett-Potter. After attending Colcord Public Schools, he stayed in his home area and made many, many fun memories with his friends and family. He became a rancher and also drove the local school bus. In his spare time, he was found outdoors. He was an avid bass fisherman and also enjoyed hunting and watching sports. Wes will be remembered most for being fun, loving, light-hearted, and hilarious.  

He is survived by his beloved wife, Anna Potter of the home; his dad, Zack Potter of Kansas, Oklahoma; son, Jerome Potter and wife, Shannon of Twin Oaks, Oklahoma; daughter, Cammi Turtle and partner, Terrance Miller of Tulsa, Oklahoma; brother, Melvin Potter and wife, Debbie of Jay, Oklahoma; 3 sisters, Beverly Davis and husband, Raymond of Colcord, Oklahoma, Ruby Snell and husband, Chug of Twin Oaks, Oklahoma, and Debbie Byrd and husband, Roger of Kansas, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Paul Nichols of Kansas, Oklahoma; 3 grandchildren, Toriah Potter, Leeland Potter, and Brecken Potter; numerous nephews and nieces; and many other loved ones.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Nina Potter, sister, Peggy Nichols, paternal grandparents, Tone Potter and Dora Potter; and maternal grandparents, Charles Bennett and Gladys Bennett-Bond.

The visitation for Wes will be held 5:00pm-8:00pm on Friday, March 10, 2023 at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, Arkansas.

The funeral service will be 10:00am on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at the Kansas High School Dome in Kansas, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Clouds Creek Cemetery in Jay, Oklahoma. Pastor Mark Sherrell will officiate the service.

Pallbearers will be Rance Escarcega, Kevin Berry, Troy Coppedge, Troy Sinor, Danny Price, and Jackie Simmons.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Victor Bishop, Jack Simmons, and Kenny Hagar.
