Obituary

Kathy Jean Ingle was born July 10th, 1944 and went to see her heavenly Father on March 21st, 2021. She was holding the hand of her son Tim and in the company of her dear friend Noreen when she passed. Kathy was born in Idaho Springs, CO. to Jean Ingle and Kathryn Morgan.

Kathy graduated as valedictorian of Sallisaw High School, Class of 1962. Following graduation, she attended Northeastern State University and received a B.A. in Elementary Education.  Her years educating was spent at Gravette Elementary. She went on to serve over 20 years at Garver, an engineering company, where she retired from in late 2019.

Kathy raised three sons whom she loved dearly. In her own words, “being a mother is the most important role one can do,” and Kathy took great pride in knowing who her sons grew up to be.

To know Kathy is to experience true generosity and friendship. She will be remembered as one of the most giving women. Whether she was passing along her own possessions to someone she believed needed them more, cooking a meal, or offering up her spare bedroom, she is a true nurturer and caretaker who genuinely enjoyed it with her whole being.

Kathy enjoyed her two dogs, Snickers and Snorky and loved to walk both. Her other hobbies include tending to her flower garden, chatting at her book club, supporting Al-Anon, and writing letters to family.

Kathy had the ability to make any situation seem less scary, less intimidating and make you feel like you were not alone. She was light. You could see here and suddenly feel warm inside hoping that some of her light would transfer onto you.

Aside from her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her son, Bruce Ellis and her brother, Bob Ingle.

Kathy surrounded herself with many who loved her. She will greatly be remembered by her brother John Acton of Muldrow, OK, son, Steve Ellis and daughter-in-law Carol of Gentry, AR, her son, Tim Ellis of Gentry, AR, six grandchildren; Dougie Switzer, Desiree McCain, Ericka Ellis, Alex Ellis, Amber Barker, and Katie Ellis; five great-grandchildren; Emerson, Douglas, Drew, Ellis, and Gentry.

Kathy was a devoted and loving grandmother. Being let go by a police officer for letting Dougie drive underage, stacking telephone books for Desiree to reach the gas and clutch to learn stick shift in her car, playing tag in  her early 60’s with Ericka,  fussing over who was going to pay the bill at Olive Garden with Alex, painting or playing board games with Amber, and taking selfies with Katie – she cared for her grandkids. Kathy even spent some of the last months of her life helping homeschool two of her great-grandchildren, Emerson and Drew.

A private burial will be held Wednesday, March 24th at the Gentry Cemetery.
